The Viva Vida Art Centre offers a variety of art and leisure courses as well as workshops for children, teens and adults, throughout the year.


Our hands-on courses range from 8 to 10 weeks with an ideal environment for exploring one's own creativity as well as learn new skills. 


We are happy to once again be offering our courses to all children, teens, and adults! We’re ready to teach, learn, and have fun in a safe environment. Before registering, please be sure to read our new code of conduct that includes some of the safety protocols we’ll be implementing. All of our prices include the cost of PPE that Viva Vida is using to ensure our clients' safety.

Explore all that is fine art as participants experiment with a variety of different mediums such as clay, acrylic paint, printmaking, collage, charcoal, paper, and much more. Supplies included!

This course will focus on the fundamentals of drawing: elements of line, composition, proportion, etc., by using different drawing materials. Supplies included!

Youth Fine Art


Tuesday 4:30-6pm or Sunday 10:30am-12pm

Ages 8-12

Participants will learn to focus on Fine Art fundamentals such as elements of line, composition, proportion, blending, color theory, etc. by using an array of mediums to create wonderful pieces of art in a variety of styles. We will look at different art styles and take inspiration from artists throughout history to guide students through the artistic learning process. Supplies included!

Oil Painting with David Kelavey


Thurs 7:00 – 10:00 pm

Learn traditional painting techniques developed by the old masters. Develop composition concepts with an emphasis on light, and bring everything to life with a series of rich colour glazes. A painting course designed for students who would like to advance their skills and technique while acquiring more artistic freedom. Course work will include composition, contrast, colour, and creativity. It will also address perspective, letting go and getting loose as well as varnishing and finishing work. In this class students will also be encouraged to explore personal voice.

Have you ever had a desire to try out different art materials but didn't know where to start?   Here's an opportunity to have some fun exploring acrylics, watercolour, collage, clay, pastel, print-making, and more. Taught by a variety of talented artists.

Want to improve your skills with acrylic paint? In this course, you will develop your own compositions for an independent project using your favourite technique. Landscape, still life, abstractions and portraiture are all options. Follow your own inspiration with guidance from a master painter.
