plein air drawing | Jeudi - Thursday 1:00 - 4:00
Available spots
Service Description
The level of this course is beginner and intermediate. This is a continuation if the August Plein Air drawing course. Newcomers are also welcome to join in this September course. Rain or shine we will draw various parts of Pointe Claire Village. In case of rain, we can work in cafés or in other places. For beginners, the technique we will use is drawing directly with a fine tip black Pilot type pen. By applying water with a paintbrush on top of these lines, shading can be created. The book “Zen of seeing” by Frederick Franck” is a good resource book for the course. Watercolourists who have previous experience with the medium can work more independently. Their critique can be separate from the rest of the class. These individuals can explore ways of creating interesting compositions, or learn to focus on certain details that are hallmarks of the village. Drawing instruction will focus on: * Learning to trust your eye ( no erasing ) * How to choose your subjects * Learning how to draw all types of subject matter - people, trees, buildings, etc. Drawing theory will be taught as needed - for example - perspective, figures, portraits, and picture planes. Materials Required: 9 x 12 sketchbook, hardcover spiral binder (Fabriano is one sold at DeSerres) fine-tip black pen watercolour brush
