Born in 1980 in Ottawa, Alexander Slim Mehiri studied at the Ottawa School of Art and Algonquin College but considers

himself self-taught. Using paint as his medium and a pallet knife as his tool, he paints unconsciously as a means to lose himself. His art is a mixture of color, texture; Motion and strokes; Chaos and control. His artistic expression serves also as a means of self-discovery. He paints freely in the moment with no clear idea of the final product. Relying only on hues, composition, inspiration and emotion to guide him. Alexander has exposed in Ottawa, Montreal and Ho Chi Minh City and is also part of the Rossy Family private art collection.
