Louise Langlois

Ever since I was a child, I have always been interested in artistic expression, curious of what I could create with my own two hands. At a young age, violin playing became part of my life. My studies led me to a career as a music and art educator.

It was in 2004 that I was introduced to painting. What a creative world it opened for me! This passion is still growing every day.

I am a figurative artist with a growing interest for abstract art. My art reflects my emotions: all is based on the nuances of the color tones and a fine attention to detail. I am passionate and disciplined. Over time, I have painted flowers, violins, portraits, icons, dancers and landscapes. My medium of choice is acrylic. I also enjoy working with egg wash paint because of its transparency properties.

My artistic practice is sparked by discoveries, exploration and knowledge. Recently, it is the al fresco painting technique that has captured my attention. I am attempting to adapt this Renaissance art to my contemporary body of work.

My paintings are part of private collections, in Canada and in Europe.
