José Hotte was born in Montreal and now lives in Mauricie. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from Concordia University in 1988.

Her favorite media are acrylic and oil as well as mixed techniques. She also enjoys experimenting with engraving, silk‑screening, and etching. She has taught at the Town of Mount Royal Recreation Centre and in several other municipalities.
