Juan Boris Gurewitsch
Juan Boris Gurewitsch was primarily inspired by the 1920s during his childhood. This period established the careers of many innovative and inspiring practitioners of the pictorial arts. However, it was a period of reflection after the horrors of World War I, and major political changes were taking place around the world. Surrealism continued to mature in the 1920s and 1930s, and focused on the human unconscious and Freudian theory.
He mainly painted landscapes with powerful brushstrokes on the spot, taking into account the position of the sun, shadows and air. Later, he created abstract paintings with condensed colors and shapes as well as links to the cosmic.
