One of the many philosophies at Viva Vida Art Gallery is to help our community in any way we can.
From communal art projects, to simply volunteering time to help others, we believe that a business needs to be involved with the world surrounding them.

MEET THE AUTHOR - MICHELLE GOOD, AUTHOR OF THE AWARDED BOOK « FIVE LITTLE INDIAN »
A word from our artist Patricia Morris : « What a fabulous evening last night with Michelle Good at Viva Vida Art Gallery and Art Centre.
Michelle and I attended grades 2-6 together in Kitimat, B.C, and went our separate ways 53 years ago. We have picked up where we left off without missing a step!
Last night we celebrated the work we have each dedicated our lives to in the interim. Michelle spoke with compassion, empathy and searing clarity about the history of residential schools and colonialism in Canada, and read a passage from her wildly successful first book, Five Little Indians.
This was right in the middle of my instant, surprise solo exhibition of oil paintings about moving through our Canadian landscape. The event last night grew quickly from having a few people over at home to a double billing at Viva Vida. It was wonderful to see a packed house with a waiting list.
Michelle is truly an amazing and inspiring woman. Michelle’s new book, Truth Telling, a collection of essays, will be available at the end of May.

Viva Vida Art Gallery was pleased to present Women, Life. freedom!
On September 16, 2022, Mahsa Amini was detained by Iranian morality police for violating Iran's strict dress code. Her death three days later sparked world wide protests demanding justice. This exhibition gave voice to the struggles faced by these young women. It featured 13 portraits by Iranian born artist Nasim Alavi, member of the Lakeshore Artists' Association, and is curated by Viva Vida Art Gallery owner, Nedia El Khouri.
The images represent only some of the victims of Iran's oppressive regime and in their quiet beauty, continue to give voice to FREEDOM. Art gives a voice to those who do not have a voice. Be their Voice!
A MONTRÉAL SCHOOL FOR ALL SCHOOL ART ACTIVITIES
Viva Vida Art Gallery and A Montréal School For All organized together to offer an artistic and cultural mediation workshop to Schools in Montréal free of charge.

This activity helps and encourage kids from different backgrounds to explore and experience art in a convivial and encouraging setting.

The West island Community Shares organization extended their thanks for the event in 2013.

A Celebration of world story telling day inspires people all over the world to oral story telling . Each year the week after March Equinox, a theme is chosen as an Inspiration for their stories.
Melanie Chursinoff performed "The Boatman and the Scholar" at Nobody's Fool, hosted at Viva Vida Art Gallery to commemorate World Storytelling Day, 2018.

Found in 2009, Culture Days, or in Quebec, "Les Fête de la culture." celebrates Canadian cultural diversity and the arts in one action packed weekend. The Pointe-Claire Village participates and as does the Viva Vida Art Gallery and Art Centre
